NBRC independence

RRT Academy is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBRC. Content is for educational purposes only.

Original content

Every question, rationale, and explanation on RRT Academy is original and written by our team and reviewed by credentialed respiratory therapists. Nothing is copied or adapted from NBRC examinations, NBRC Self-Assessment Examinations, or any other publisher's copyrighted materials.

No guarantee of exam results

Practice with RRT Academy is intended to build and reinforce your knowledge. It does not guarantee a passing score on the TMC, CSE, or any future NBRC examination. Performance depends on many factors, including your overall preparation, clinical experience, and the conditions of the actual exam.

Educational tools, not clinical tools

The ABG interpreter, ventilator calculators, and AI tutor are study aids built to teach exam-relevant reasoning. They are not validated clinical decision-support tools, are not intended for use with real patients, and should never replace your facility's protocols, your clinical judgment, or the guidance of a licensed, supervising clinician.

AI tutor limitations

The AI tutor is a large-language-model-based assistant. Like any AI system, it can occasionally produce an inaccurate or incomplete explanation. Use it as a study aid alongside your coursework and textbooks, not as a sole source of clinical or exam content — and always verify anything clinically important with your program.

Currency of content

We build content to the most current NBRC content outline available to us, and we are actively preparing for the transition to the new Respiratory Therapy Examination beginning in 2027. Always confirm exam structure, eligibility, and policies directly with the NBRC at nbrc.org.
